Summary:
In this study, the synthesis of new2-thioxo- 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidines and their condensed derivatives thiazolo(3,2-a)prymidines has been reported. The structures of the compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods. The racemic compounds were resolved into their enantiomers analytically by HPLC on cellulose tris- (3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate)(OD) chiral stationary some bacteria and yeast-like fungi were investigated using the microdilution method. The antibacterial activity of the compounds was better than their antifungal activity. Compound 10b was found to be more effective against E.coli compared with the other derivatives (MIC: 31.25 ?g/ml).
