Summary:
In this study antibacterial and antifungal activities
of the synthesized ten dioxolane derivatives which contain
azole and condansed azole ring in their structure were
determined against 4 bacteria, 2 of them are Gram-positive
(Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Enterecoccus faecalis
ATCC 29212) and 2 of them are Gram-negative (Escherichia
coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853) and
3 yeast-like fungi (Candida albicans ATCC 90028, Candida
krusei ATCC 6258 and Candida parapsilosis ATCC 22019).
The activities of the compounds were determined by the
broth microdilution method and Ceftazidime and Fluconazole
were used as standards. Compound 9 and 10 showed activity
( 4 µg/ml ) against S.aureus, compound 1 and 4 showed
activity ( 32µg/ml ) against C.krusei, compound 1 ( 8
µg/ml ) and compound 6 ( 4 µg/ml ) showed activity against
C. albicans.
